Kim Jong-in: "Government Should Stop Pressuring Medical Staff and First Establish Quarantine Conditions"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the Future United Party, demanded that the government listen to the voices of the medical community for COVID-19 prevention, stating, "The government must ensure that there are no disruptions in the quarantine efforts of frontline medical personnel."
On the 28th, during a video conference of the United Party's Emergency Committee meeting, Chairman Kim said, "Because the relationship between the government and medical personnel is not smoothly resolved, significant disruptions in quarantine and treatment will occur."
He added, "The government should not only criticize the medical staff who are on strike but must first create conditions that allow medical personnel to devote themselves to eradicating COVID-19," and said, "It is wise for the government to consider the problematic situations after eliminating the virus."
He continued, "All efforts now must be focused on preventing the spread of the virus," emphasizing, "Above all, the government must do its utmost to stop COVID-19. It is right to exclude other matters from consideration."
Chairman Kim also stated, "The United Party is actively cooperating with the government's quarantine efforts to prevent the spread of the virus, and all party officials are working from home," and requested, "Even while working from home, party activities cannot be halted, so I hope proactive measures are taken to ensure that originally planned activities can be conducted non-face-to-face or via video."
