Arrest Warrant Requested for Man in His 50s Who Assaulted Bus Driver Demanding Mask Wearing
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The police have requested an arrest warrant for a man in his 50s who assaulted a bus driver demanding proper mask-wearing and also attacked a passenger who tried to intervene.
On the 27th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that they have applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A, who is suspected of assaulting a driver and obstructing business under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
Mr. A is accused of pulling the mask and hitting the face of a bus driver who was instructing passengers to wear masks properly while he was on a city bus near Jamsil Bridge in Songpa-gu, Seoul, around 10:20 p.m. on the 25th, during a phone call.

He is also suspected of assaulting another passenger by trying to snatch their phone when they attempted to report the incident to the police and scratching their face. Additionally, he is charged with obstructing business by shouting loudly inside the bus and exerting intimidation.
