View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), approximately 7,000 kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools, and special schools across 12 cities and provinces have adjusted their in-person attendance schedules.
The Ministry of Education announced on the 27th at 10 a.m. that 7,032 schools in 12 cities and provinces had adjusted their in-person attendance days.
The number of schools increased by 192 compared to the previous day. Among them, 195 schools adjusted their attendance schedules, one school resumed in-person attendance, and two schools were removed from the list due to vacation.
By region, the metropolitan area, which switched entirely to remote classes, had the highest number with 5,752 schools. Gwangju had 584 schools, Cheongju in Chungbuk had 268 schools, Suncheon in Jeonnam had 128 schools, and Wonju in Gangwon had 123 schools.

On the same day, the number of confirmed cases among students and staff also increased. Seventeen students and eight staff members tested positive. From the 23rd to the 26th, the number of confirmed student cases was 70, bringing the cumulative total of confirmed student cases to 337. The cumulative number of confirmed staff cases was 89.
