Wave, Busan Short Film Festival Online Screening Program
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Wave has stepped up to support the film industry, which has been shrinking due to the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The online video service Wave will organize and operate the online screening room for the 37th Busan International Short Film Festival for five days from the 27th to the 31st. The Busan International Short Film Festival, which started in 1980 as the 'Korean Short Film Festival,' was the first domestic short film festival to expand its competition entries to the Asian region, introducing various films and directors. It is also the first domestic film festival certified by the American Academy Awards. This year, the Busan International Short Film Festival has carefully selected a total of 129 films, including competition works that passed preliminary screening out of 2,915 submissions, to be screened on Wave.
