20s Man Caught Spitting on Women’s Faces on the Street
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A man in his 20s who spat at unknown women on the street and fled was caught by the police.
According to the police on the 26th, the Jungnang Police Station in Seoul has booked and is investigating a man in his 20s, Mr. A, on charges of habitual assault.
Mr. A is accused of riding a bicycle around the Jungnang-gu area in Seoul between the 11th and 21st of this month, selecting random women and spitting on their faces before fleeing. The police have confirmed three victims so far, including one pregnant woman.
Mr. A also underwent a test for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and tested negative. He reportedly stated during the police investigation that "he committed the acts as a prank."

The police believe there may be additional victims beyond these and are questioning Mr. A to ascertain the exact motive and circumstances of the crimes.
