"9 Confirmed Cases at Beauty Salon in Yeonsinnae, Seoul; 5 Confirmed Cases at Apartment in Guro-gu (Update)"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] A cluster infection of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been confirmed at a hair salon in Yeonsinnae, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, and an apartment in Guro-gu.
Park Yumi, Seoul's Quarantine Control Officer (Director of the Citizen Health Bureau), explained this information during a COVID-19 briefing on the morning of the 26th.
In the case of the 'Haircock Yeonsinnae Branch' hair salon in Eunpyeong-gu, the first confirmed case appeared on the 22nd of this month, followed by 7 additional confirmed cases among colleagues and family members by the 24th, and another confirmed case on the 25th, bringing the total to 9 confirmed cases so far.
Seoul City explained that everyone who visited this hair salon between the 8th and 22nd of this month was sent a disaster safety text message urging them to visit a nearby public health center screening clinic to receive a COVID-19 diagnostic test. The city conducted emergency disinfection at the establishment and is investigating additional infections and the initial infection route.
In a corridor-style apartment located in Guro-gu, one resident was first confirmed positive on the 23rd, with 2 additional cases on the 24th and 25th respectively, making a total of 5 related confirmed cases so far.
Seoul City conducted emergency disinfection of shared facilities such as elevators and staircases within the building where the confirmed cases reside, and is investigating the infection route by securing additional materials such as closed-circuit television (CCTV).

A total of 262 households and about 400 residents live in the same building of this apartment. Seoul City has set up a temporary screening clinic in front of the apartment and is conducting tests on 210 residents.
