Busan City Holds First Online Broadcast of 'Urban Height' Service Discussion Meeting
Hosting 'Height Management Standard Establishment Service Workshop' for Urban Landscape
Real-time Opinions and Questions from Citizens via Chat on the 27th at 3 PM
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A service discussion meeting to set the standard for the "height of Busan" will be broadcast live online for the first time in history. Citizens will also be able to ask questions in the real-time chat window.
Busan City decided to broadcast the discussion meeting for the "Establishment of Busan City Height Management Standards for Urban Landscape Management" live from 3 p.m. on the 27th through Busan City's internet broadcasting "Bada TV" and the YouTube channel "Bussan News," in accordance with the implementation of social distancing level 2 due to COVID-19.
Most of Busan's residential dense areas are located on slopes due to the mountainous terrain crossing the city.
In addition, housing redevelopment and reconstruction projects have continued, resulting in high-rise apartment complexes not only along the coast and riversides but also on mountainous and highland slopes.
Because of this, the privatization of the public urban landscape view rights has become serious, and there have been continuous calls for the establishment of systematic management standards.
To address these issues, Busan City commissioned a project last June with a total budget of 400 million KRW to establish building height management standards in Busan.
Over the past year, the Korean Society of Land and Urban Planning, which has been conducting the project, plans to gather diverse opinions from citizens, the Construction Association, the Architectural Society, and other related experts through this discussion meeting.
The discussion meeting will be moderated by Professor Kang Dong-jin of Kyungsung University. It will proceed in the order of ▲ explanation of the draft Busan City height management standards by Professor Kwon Tae-jung of Dong-A University, ▲ discussions by various experts from Busan Research Institute, the Korea Construction Association, the Architectural Institute of Korea, and others.
Since the discussion will be broadcast live online, experts will immediately respond to major questions raised by citizens in real-time online comments.
Citizens who have opinions on the establishment of Busan City's height management standards can submit them on the Busan City Urban Planning Agora website.
The Busan City height management standards establishment project will be completed by the end of this year after hearing opinions from the City Council and consulting the Urban Planning Committee. Afterwards, Busan City plans to prepare institutional procedures so that the results of this project can be utilized in various committee reviews starting next year.
