The protests began after a video of Black man Jacob Blake being shot multiple times by police in Kenosha on the 23rd went viral. Violent protests continued for two consecutive days, resulting in dozens of buildings being set on fire and many stores suffering damage.
On the same day, Blake's father revealed in an interview with local media that his son, the shooting victim, is paralyzed from the waist down, which is expected to further fuel the anger of the protesters.
