4 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Including Visitors to Sarang Jeil Church in Gyeongnam
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Four confirmed cases of COVID-19, including visitors to Sarang Jeil Church, have been reported in Gyeongnam.
According to Gyeongnam Province on the 25th, a woman in her 60s from Geoje and a woman in her 50s and a man in his 60s from Gimhae tested positive for COVID-19 in the afternoon.
The woman in her 60s from Geoje developed symptoms on the 22nd, was tested on the 24th, and was confirmed positive on this day, and was admitted to Masan Medical Center.
She visited her home and farm, and additional movement paths are being investigated.
There are 14 contacts in total, including her spouse and 13 family members who helped with farm work, and tests are underway for them.
The woman in her 50s and the man in his 60s from Gimhae are a married couple, both showing symptoms since the 20th.
They were tested on the 24th, confirmed positive on this day, and admitted to Masan Medical Center.
In-depth epidemiological investigations are underway to identify the infection route, contacts, and movement paths.
So far, a total of 11 contacts have been identified.
Earlier that morning, a man in his 20s who had visited Sarang Jeil Church in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, and had been out of contact was confirmed positive.
This is the first confirmed case among Sarang Jeil Church visitors in Gyeongnam.
The province reported that this man, residing in Gimhae City, tested positive for the COVID-19 virus on the night of the 24th.
He visited Sarang Jeil Church on the 17th and was notified as a visitor, but had been out of contact until now.
Gimhae City and Gimhae Western Police Station confirmed the reception of his location information on the 24th, immediately dispatched officers, secured him, and conducted virus testing.
His movement paths are under epidemiological investigation, and one contact has been identified.
Among the 52 visitors to Sarang Jeil Church in the province, excluding this man, 43 have tested negative, 6 had no visit history, and the remaining 2 are being located with the police.
Regarding participants in the Liberation Day rally, 1,514 people have been tested so far, with 6 positive, 1,478 negative, and 30 tests pending.
Among 415 participants identified through telecom base station data, 29 who have not been contacted are being located in cooperation with the police.
Of these, 19 have refused testing, and their positive status will be confirmed through police investigation requests.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases in Gyeongnam has risen to 200.
