Jin Joong-kwon "Why Did Park Geun-hye Sink the Sewol Ferry?" Bae Hyun-jin "Did You Regain Udon Noodles Thanks to Cho Kuk?"
Assemblyman Bae "It's truly interesting to watch with regret"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon said, "Why would President Park Geun-hye sink the Sewol ferry?" to which Future United Party lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin sarcastically replied, "Thanks to Cho Kuk (former Minister of Justice), has udong (a slang term) been restored?"
The remark appears to be a direct retort to Jin's criticism of lawmaker Bae as 'udong.'
Previously, last month, Jin criticized Bae for raising suspicions about military service corruption involving Park Ju-shin, son of former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, saying, "Do you carry udong in your head?"
On the 25th, Bae posted on her Facebook, "Should this be seen as a belated internal whistleblowing with courage, or should we say udong has been restored after two years thanks to my friend Cho Kuk?" she mocked. "Should we pity the livelihood-type chameleon who remained silent, or is it just hard to align with common sense when trying to save the literate?"
She added, "You seem very busy, so it's quite interesting to watch with regret."
However, comments pointed out that the term 'udong' was inappropriate, and lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin deleted the post.
Meanwhile, former professor Jin recently mentioned the Sewol ferry incident in his book A Country Never Experienced Before, written in response to the 'Cho Kuk White Paper.'
He said, "There are people who believe in the drama of the Sewol ferry's intentional sinking," adding, "When I give lectures and use this as an example to say it's nonsense, people react with 'Huh! Is that fake?'"
