Local media such as Jamaica Radio Nation News reported on the 24th (local time) that Bolt tested positive for COVID-19.
According to reports, Bolt was infected with COVID-19 after attending a surprise party held on his 34th birthday on the 21st.
Videos posted on social media showed participants dancing without masks at the outdoor party. It is known that Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) and Leon Bailey (Bayer Leverkusen) also attended the party.
On the same day, Bolt posted a video on his Instagram saying, "I just woke up and saw an article saying 'I tested positive for COVID-19,'" and added, "I took the test last Saturday (the 22nd)."
He explained, "I currently have no symptoms" and "I will follow the protocols while self-isolating." However, he did not clearly confirm whether the COVID-19 test result was positive.
