View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) will operate the integrated health program "Warm Companionship" every Wednesday at 3 PM starting from September 2nd in local parks.
"Warm Companionship" is a project initiated by residents' voluntary proposals, with participation from community nurses, Geumcheon-gu Dementia Safety Center, and Geumcheon-gu Mental Health Center, providing an integrated health program that helps improve memory and promote health for the elderly.
The district has designated four local hub parks?Mokhwa Park in Doksan 3-dong, Ssamji Park in Doksan 4-dong, Geumbit Park in Siheung 1-dong, and Sanggiseuk Park in Siheung 4-dong?to conduct a total of eight sessions targeting seniors aged 65 and older in the area.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the number of participants is limited to 10 per session. Participating seniors will engage in various programs at each location, including health checks with community nurses, dementia tests, depression screenings, silver gymnastics, and fall prevention physical activities.
Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yuseong Hoon stated, "Through the 'Warm Companionship' program, we hope that seniors can prevent increased depression and memory decline caused by COVID-19, regain vitality in daily life, and improve their health."
