Nowon-gu, Temperature Checks for All Employees
From the 24th, all employees must check their temperature before going to the district office... On the 23rd, inspection of online worship status and methods at 347 church facilities in the area
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is making every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by strengthening the quarantine system for the government office building following the elevation to social distancing level 2.
Starting from 8 a.m. on the 24th, temperature checks for employees arriving at work were conducted at the entrance of the district office for all staff. Currently, only the main gate of the district office building is open, and the two back gates are closed to entry.
Since recent confirmed cases at public facilities have caused significant inconvenience to residents due to building closures, the district decided not to rely solely on automatic thermal detectors but to have staff directly measure the temperatures of visitors. Currently, four personnel are assigned to the main building and two to the annex.
To prevent confirmed cases at religious facilities such as churches, the district also inspected 347 churches in the area on the 23rd. From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the 23rd, 106 employees were mobilized to check whether services were held online and to inspect the sites.
Among the 191 locations that held services, 170 were found to have conducted them online, and for the 15 locations that held on-site services, immediate dispersal and on-site guidance were carried out. Religious facilities found violating rules again during next week’s inspection will be subject to immediate assembly bans and police prosecution.
Follow-up measures for the elevation to social distancing level 2 have also been completed. On the 21st, assembly ban notices were posted at 12 types of high-risk facilities including singing rooms, PC cafes, and entertainment establishments. The district has formed inspection teams by department for these facilities, and entertainment venues will be subject to twice-weekly unannounced nighttime joint inspections to ensure compliance.
