[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City has raised the social distancing level to Stage 2 on the 21st to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the region, resulting in the closure of daycare centers and suspension of operations at tourist sites.
Since the 21st, Suncheon City has closed 202 daycare centers and is providing emergency childcare to prevent care gaps, offering meals and snacks as usual.
In addition to daycare centers, 47 local children's centers, the Childcare Support Center, Youth Culture House, Youth Training Center and Training Institute, Youth Counseling Center, and Youth Sexual Culture Center have also suspended operations from the 21st.
Four major tourist attractions and tourist information centers in Suncheon City will be temporarily closed from the 24th to the 30th.
The city has closed tourist sites and information centers to prevent external infection inflow and has suspended the operation of tourist guides until September 3rd.
The planned performances of the "Midsummer Night's Concert" scheduled for the 27th and September 1st at the Suncheon Culture and Arts Center, as well as the National Modern Dance Company's "Swing," have been canceled. The cancellations will be processed collectively on the 24th, and refunds are expected to take about 3 to 5 days.
