Gwangju Nam-gu Daechon-dong National and Local Industrial Complexes Gain Momentum in Attracting Companies
Business Agreement between Gwangju Urban Corporation and Partners on the 28th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 24th that it will sign a business agreement with Gwangju Urban Corporation on the morning of the 28th in the 7th-floor situation room of Nam-gu Office to revitalize investment attraction for new industrial complexes in the district.
The event is expected to be attended by eight officials from both organizations, including District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae and Gwangju Urban Corporation President Noh Gyeong-su.
The core content of the business agreement is mutual cooperation between the two organizations to attract many companies to the national industrial complex, the Urban High-tech Industrial Complex, and the Energy Valley being developed as a local industrial complex, thereby promoting the sale of industrial complex lots and leading corporate investment.
This business agreement is expected to accelerate corporate attraction to the new industrial complexes.
In particular, Nam-gu is anticipating an increase in corporate investment inquiries following the promotion of the Energy Valley 2nd Industrial Complex development and the designation of the Gwangju Free Economic Zone, and has recently taken swift action by forming a ‘One-stop Corporate Support TF Team’ involving nine departments within the district office.
Currently, in the national industrial complex, the Gwangju branch of the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute and the Korea Basic Science Institute, among other research institutions, are actively moving into the area and establishing related infrastructure facilities. It is known that about 60 energy sector companies have expressed their intention to move into the nearby Energy Valley.
In particular, since the supply announcement of some industrial facility sites in May, contracts with several companies have reportedly been concluded.
