Along with requesting an investigation, Emart is exploring various methods to strengthen gift certificate security and plans to share precautions when accepting gift certificates with major business sites and external franchise stores.

An Emart official said, "For safe gift certificate purchases, we ask customers to use official gift certificate shops such as department stores and Emart," adding, "Special caution is needed against gift certificate scams online and elsewhere during the period of increased demand ahead of holidays."
