Opera 'Ernani' Performed Domestically After 27 Years... Crowdfunding Underway
La Bella Opera Company Scheduled to Perform at Seoul Arts Center on November 28-29
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] La Bella Opera Company is conducting a crowdfunding campaign until September 15th ahead of their performance of Giuseppe Verdi's opera 'Ernani.'
The opera 'Ernani' has not been performed for 27 years since its domestic premiere in 1994. This is because the story and songs are difficult, and it is a large-scale work, making production costs considerable. Therefore, La Bella Opera Company is running a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the production costs.
Supporters can contribute from 100,000 to 230,000 KRW through the crowdfunding, and those who participate will receive tickets to the opera 'Ernani,' a program book, postcards, posters, bookmarks, special goods, and invitations to a preview of the opera. Detailed information about the crowdfunding can be found on the La Bella Opera Company website.
'Ernani' depicts the intense love of three men?Ernani, Silva, and Carlo?towards a woman named Elvira. Ernani was a lord of Aragon but was exiled for treason and now leads a rebellion against King Carlo of the peninsula. Silva is a high-ranking nobleman and Elvira's arranged marriage partner.
La Bella Opera Company plans to perform 'Ernani' at the Opera Theater of the Seoul Arts Center on November 28th and 29th.
