Gurye-gun, Emergency Supplementary Budget for Heavy Rain Damage Recovery Prepared
Emergency Payment of 1 Million Won in Military Funds for Flood-Damaged Households and Businesses
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Mi-seok] On the 20th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it had carried out an emergency supplementary budget to recover from the heavy rain damage that occurred from the 7th to the 9th.
The supplementary budget scale increased by 4 billion KRW compared to the original budget, totaling 325.8 billion KRW, consisting of 319.6 billion KRW in the general account and 6.2 billion KRW in the special account.
This supplementary budget is a one-point supplementary budget for flood damage recovery caused by the heavy rain. It urgently allocated 1.3 billion KRW for disaster relief funds to households and stores affected by flooding, 700 million KRW for purchasing materials needed for recovery by volunteers and soldiers, and 2 billion KRW as a contingency fund for emergency disaster recovery.
Gurye-gun plans to provide disaster relief funds of 1 million KRW per household from the county budget to residents whose houses and stores were flooded by this heavy rain, separate from the national disaster relief funds.
The disaster relief funds will be paid to residents who have previously reported damage without any separate application procedure.
The county plans to start distributing the disaster relief funds from tomorrow.
At the temporary meeting held that day, County Governor Kim Soon-ho expressed his opinion, saying, “Seeing the residents and volunteers who stepped forward to overcome the damage, the ordinary words ‘Sharing happiness doubles it, sharing sorrow halves it’ deeply moved my heart.”
