Gyeongnam National University LINC+ Project Group Holds Opening Ceremony for 'Innovation Design Center'
Promoting Design Projects to Contribute to Strengthening Competitiveness
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] On the 20th, the LINC+ Project Group at Gyeongnam National University announced that it held an opening ceremony for the 'Innovation Design Center' on the 5th floor of the Design Building.
The Innovation Design Center at Gyeongnam National University, together with the LINC+ Project Group's Corporate Support Division, pursues design projects such as ▲designer education ▲design forums ▲solving social issues through design to respond to various design demands from industries and local communities and contribute to strengthening competitiveness through design.
Additionally, centered on the LINC+ project, the center plans to provide various services to solve difficulties faced by industries and local communities in the design field by utilizing 'design platform construction' and 'design thinking' derived from integrative thinking.
The director of the Innovation Design Center at Gyeongnam National University will be Professor Park Hee-woon from the Department of Industrial Design.
Director Park Hee-woon of the Innovation Design Center stated, “We are planning various design thinking programs for students under new paradigms such as creative convergence education and capstone design,” and added, “Through free design thinking programs that can foster self-sustainability together with local communities and companies, we aim to become a center that shares positive influence.”

At the opening ceremony held in compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, about 20 people including Kang Jae-gwan, Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation at Gyeongnam National University, Park Eun-joo, head of the LINC+ Project Group, as well as center directors and related personnel from the LINC+ Project Group, attended to celebrate the opening.
