[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Following the government's strengthened social distancing guidelines, buffet restaurants in the Seoul metropolitan area have temporarily suspended operations starting from the 19th. With poor performance in the first half of the year due to the spread of COVID-19, the suspension of operations is expected to inevitably impact companies running buffet services.
According to the industry on this day, hotels located in the metropolitan area such as Seoul Shilla Hotel, Lotte Hotel, and Shinsegae Chosun Hotel have stopped serving lunch and dinner from this day. Breakfast is provided as ? la carte. CJ Foodville's 'VIPS' and 'Season's Table' have also temporarily closed 36 stores. E-Land Eats announced the suspension of operations at 109 metropolitan area stores including 'Ashley,' 'Jayeon Byeolgok,' 'Susa,' 'Pizza Mall,' and 'Rowoon.' Shinsegae Food also closed a total of four stores including 'Bonobono' and 'Olban.'
