A 99MW Solar Power Facility to Be Established in Gunsan Saemangeum
Business Proposal Submission Deadline Extended to the 23rd of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Gunsan City, Jeonbuk Province, has launched a public bid for the Saemangeum Onshore Solar Power Zone 2 project developer.
On the 19th, the city announced that it will accept proposals for the Saemangeum Onshore Solar Power Zone 2 project to build a 99 MW solar power facility until the 23rd of next month.
This project is being promoted by actively reflecting the regional win-win measures from the Saemangeum Renewable Energy Project Public-Private Council held on April 30 last year.
Additionally, it is a citizen participation-type project based on citizen investment (80% of total project cost with a 7% return rate), and the generated profits will be shared with citizens as a regional development win-win project.
The city plans to hold an on-site briefing session on the 20th for participating companies to ensure accurate understanding of the project details and facilitate smooth proposal preparation.
Afterward, the city will receive proposals and select a developer suitable for the city’s project structure, ensuring concreteness, feasibility, and business viability of the proposals.
After selecting the preferred negotiator, the city plans to sign a project promotion agreement by October and promptly complete various permits and approvals to commence the solar power project by January next year.
Furthermore, as a region-led project aiming to share profits with local residents and businesses, the city has set the local company construction participation rate at 49% or higher and encourages the use of local materials within the scope that does not violate the Fair Trade Act and Trade Act to revitalize the local economy.
Mayor Kang Im-jun stated, “We plan to carefully select a developer that aligns with the city’s promotion direction to ensure the project coexists with the region and returns profits to citizens.”
