Yongdu 1 District 2·3 Zones Redevelopment... 587 Apartment Units and More to Be Built
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] The Yongdu 1 District 2 and 3 Zones in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, will be reborn as a city maintenance-type redevelopment project consisting of 587 apartment units and 291 officetel units.
On the 18th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the 10th Urban Redevelopment Committee meeting and announced on the 19th that it had approved the revised plan for the redevelopment promotion of Yongdu 1 District 2 and 3 Zones in Yongdu-dong 26 area, Dongdaemun-gu.
The target site is a city maintenance-type redevelopment zone located within the Cheongnyangni redevelopment promotion district. To expand housing supply in the city center, the residential ratio standard for city maintenance-type redevelopment projects, which was temporarily relaxed to 90% residential (including apartments and officetels) and 10% non-residential for three years starting from March 28 last year, was applied. Accordingly, Zone 2 will have 299 apartment units and 171 officetel units, and Zone 3 will have 288 apartment units and 120 officetel units.
Among these, 155 units, corresponding to 15% of the total floor area, were secured as public contribution (public rental housing). Zone 2 has 76 units, and Zone 3 has 79 units, all of which will be supplied as Happy Housing.
A Seoul city official said, "Through this change, we expect not only an expansion of housing supply in the central area of Seoul but also the stabilization of housing for young people starting new lives, such as university students, young workers, and newlyweds, by supplying small-sized housing under 60㎡."
