Emart plans to individually deliver a total of 500,000 disposable masks to 10,000 vulnerable people nationwide by the 28th. This support for masks for vulnerable groups is based on the mask support agreement Emart signed with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation in April last year.
The disposable masks supported by Emart are domestically produced products, consisting of a three-layer filter structure with an MB filter inserted.
As fine dust emerged as a serious social issue last year, Emart decided to support fine dust masks for vulnerable children and adolescents who may face economic difficulties in purchasing masks for three years.
Last year, during the yellow dust season when fine dust was rampant, a total of 300,000 yellow dust masks were provided to vulnerable groups, and this year, considering the prolonged situation of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), 500,000 disposable masks will be supported.
Through timely support, the company aims to practice corporate social responsibility by helping the actual difficulties of vulnerable groups. Earlier, Emart held a mask support delivery ceremony for vulnerable groups at the Children’s Foundation building in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 18th.
Meanwhile, as COVID-19 became a social issue, Emart has been continuously carrying out material support activities to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.
In February, Emart donated 100,000 masks to the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, which were suffering greatly from local COVID-19 infections, and proactively supplied 2.11 million masks, doing its best to ensure citizen safety.
In April, in response to the closure of free meal centers due to COVID-19, Emart supported 7,800 vulnerable people nationwide with Peacock home meal replacement (HMR) products and other daily necessities, helping during difficult times.
