Starting Tonight at Midnight, Karaoke Rooms, Buffet Restaurants, and Large Academies in the Seoul Metropolitan Area Will Close
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Starting from midnight tonight (18th), businesses classified as 'high-risk' for quarantine, such as entertainment bars, large academies, and buffet restaurants in the Seoul metropolitan area including Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon, will be prohibited from operating. Religious facilities located in the metropolitan area will only be allowed to hold regular services in a non-face-to-face format.
Additionally, indoor national and public facilities such as museums and art galleries will be closed, and events with more than 50 people indoors or 100 people outdoors will be banned.
According to the 'Strengthening Quarantine Measures in the Metropolitan Area' announced by the government today, the 11 facilities and industries currently designated as high-risk must close their doors.
This includes hunting pubs, emotional bars, entertainment bars, karaoke bars, colatecs, singing rooms, indoor group exercise facilities, indoor standing performance venues, door-to-door sales companies, large academies with over 300 people, and buffet restaurants.
Large distribution logistics centers are classified as high-risk facilities, but considering their status as essential industrial facilities, the government has excluded them from this operational restriction.
With the explosive increase in confirmed cases centered around churches in the metropolitan area recently, regular church services are also prohibited from being held face-to-face. The government only allows non-face-to-face services and bans other small gatherings and activities.
