UNESCO Asia-Pacific Intangible Heritage Center, Seminar Highlighting the Value of Intangible Heritage Content
The UNESCO Asia-Pacific Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre will hold a seminar at 10 a.m. on the 19th in Seminar Room 1 of the National Assembly Members' Office Building to highlight the value of Asia-Pacific intangible cultural heritage content. The theme is "Transnational Sharing and Utilization of Asia-Pacific Intangible Cultural Heritage Information Resources." The seminar will discuss the utilization plan for ICH Links, which has been promoted since last year.
ICH Links is an information-sharing platform that collaborates with UNESCO headquarters as well as UNESCO member countries in the Asia-Pacific region to share intangible cultural heritage data and content materials. Recently, seven countries were selected as the first project target countries: Malaysia, Mongolia, Vietnam, India, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Fiji.

The keynote presentation will be delivered by Professor Noh Myung-hwan of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, who will discuss the value of intangible cultural heritage information sharing in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The comprehensive discussion, chaired by President Ahn Ho-young of the University of North Korean Studies, will include participants such as Kim Yeon-su, Director of the National Intangible Heritage Center; Park Chi-dae, director at the Educational Broadcasting System (EBS); film director In Byung-hoon; Jeong Hae-woon, CEO of Dotmill; and Ryu Jeong-ah, senior researcher at the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute. Due to the resurgence of COVID-19, attendance by the general public will be restricted.
