Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Member Tests Positive for COVID-19 Following 'Sarangjeil Church Confirmed Case Lesson'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] It has been confirmed that one member of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (Seoul Philharmonic) has been infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
This member had a private lesson with one of two Seoul Arts High School students who recently tested positive for COVID-19 at a practice room in Seoul and was diagnosed positive on the 16th.
The Seoul Philharmonic issued a statement saying, "On the 15th, one of the Seoul Philharmonic members was notified as a close contact of a COVID-19 confirmed case and underwent testing at the Jongno-gu Public Health Center, resulting in a positive COVID-19 diagnosis on the 16th."
The Seoul Philharmonic canceled the Liberation Day 75th Anniversary commemorative concert scheduled to be held at the Seodaemun Prison History Hall on the 15th and an external performance on the 16th, and conducted an epidemiological investigation and building disinfection led by the Jongno-gu Public Health Center on the 16th.

The Seoul Philharmonic stated, "We will thoroughly comply with quarantine guidelines according to the city’s health authorities," and added, "We will prioritize the health and safety of our members and citizens when deciding whether to proceed with scheduled performances and various projects in August and September." Furthermore, they apologized, saying, "We regret to inform you of a member’s COVID-19 diagnosis," and added, "We will overcome the current situation as soon as possible."
