Yeongdeungpo-gu "Hiring English Teachers for Seniors"
Recruiting 20 Living English Instructors to Support Seniors' Economic Stability and Social Participation by August 21... Utilizing Baby Boom Generation's Skilled Workforce... Enhancing Learning Abilities and Emotional Support for Children... Preference for Retired Professionals Aged 60+ with English Certifications
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is recruiting 20 participants for the senior job creation project, "Senior Daily English Vocabulary Instructor," to provide economic stability and opportunities for social participation for local seniors.
Due to the economic downturn caused by COVID-19, economic poverty among the elderly and elderly depression have emerged as social issues. The project aims to offer various customized jobs for seniors and provide quality education and emotional connection to children.
The Senior Daily English Vocabulary Instructors utilize the excellent knowledge and experience of the baby boomer generation seniors, are trained as professional instructors, and are dispatched to local children's centers to assist children's English learning.
The application period is from the 19th to the 21st of this month, and applications can be submitted in person at the Yeongdeungpo Senior Club (119 Yeongjung-ro, Ramickville Yeongdeungpo 1st floor, 02-833-7005).
Applicants must be residents of Yeongdeungpo-gu aged 60 or older. Preference will be given to retired professionals or those holding certificates in teaching or English fields.
Activities will continue until December this year, with wages paid on an hourly basis according to the Yeongdeungpo-gu living wage. Working hours are limited to 40 hours per month, and the selection results will be individually notified in early September.
Detailed information on required documents and application procedures can be found on the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office website announcement.
Those who pass the document screening must complete an education course using the Living Talent Education Institute's online learning program for a total of 8 days (32 hours).
After completing the course, participants will obtain certification through the Senior Daily English Vocabulary Instructor qualification exam and then work as instructors in the relevant field. The education and textbook fees for this course are provided free of charge, but certification acquisition costs are self-funded.
Additionally, the district has been conducting talent-customized job projects for seniors since last year. Currently, the YeongCyber Project Group (mobile knife sharpening, umbrella repair, household goods disinfection), Senior Counseling Project Group (working at welfare centers and daycare centers), and Beauty Service Project Group are actively operating with great response from residents and participants.
