[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] LG Uplus announced on the 17th that the talent development program "Dudream U+ Yosultongjang," which supports asset formation and provides career mentoring for adolescents from families with disabilities in collaboration with the Korea Disabled Rehabilitation Association, has reached its 10th anniversary.
Dudream U+ Yosultongjang is a social contribution activity hosted by LG Uplus and organized by the Korea Disabled Rehabilitation Association, launched in 2010, providing scholarships to about 150 adolescents from families with disabilities annually.
Adolescents from families with disabilities and LG Uplus employees are paired 1:1, and when the adolescent’s family saves 20,000 KRW monthly into the Dudream U+ Yosultongjang, LG Uplus employees contribute 20,000 KRW, and LG Uplus adds 60,000 KRW, accumulating a total of 100,000 KRW. The matching fund of over 6 million KRW saved monthly for 5 years is used for the adolescent’s university entrance fees or employment preparation expenses.
Over the past 10 years, Dudream U+ Yosultongjang has supported a total of 368 adolescents from families with disabilities, providing scholarships amounting to approximately 1.67 billion KRW. Currently, 150 adolescents from families with disabilities are saving funds in the Dudream Yosultongjang together with LG Uplus employees.
LG Uplus and the Korea Disabled Rehabilitation Association are additionally recruiting 30 new scholarship students this year, targeting adolescents from families with incomes below 70% of the median income and currently enrolled in the first year of middle school. Applicants can refer to the announcements on the Korea Disabled Rehabilitation Association website (www.dodreamfund.com) and submit the relevant documents by the 31st after inquiring with the regional co-executing organizations or the Korea Disabled Rehabilitation Association contact person (02-3472-3709).

Additionally, it provides customized career and academic consulting linked with major entrance exam academies to help students achieve their dreams.
Marking its 10th anniversary this year, LG Uplus and the Korea Disabled Rehabilitation Association plan to hold a performance sharing meeting as early as next month to showcase achievements such as providing a stepping stone for social advancement through asset formation and cases of dream fulfillment through customized consulting. They also plan to actively promote the program through social media.
