[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Recently, the spread of COVID-19 has been intensifying, centered around churches in Seoul and the Gyeonggi area.
Amid this situation, Yuseonghun, the mayor of Geumcheon-gu, held an "Emergency COVID-19 Quarantine Measures Meeting" at 10 a.m. on the 16th in the small conference room of the district office.
At the emergency meeting, Mayor Yuseonghun instructed the heads of related departments to strengthen quarantine measures for public and private facilities and to enhance public awareness campaigns following the elevation to Social Distancing Level 2.
With the upgrade to Social Distancing Level 2 in Seoul and the Gyeonggi area, the district plans to add facilities subject to mandatory quarantine rules, such as academies, religious facilities, and performance venues, in addition to the existing 12 high-risk facilities including entertainment bars and indoor group exercise facilities, and to strengthen quarantine measures accordingly.

Mayor Yuseonghun of Geumcheon-gu stated, "As COVID-19 shows signs of a second large-scale outbreak, systematic inspections of each facility and public awareness campaigns on social distancing must be conducted simultaneously to prevent the spread of community infections," and added, "For overcoming the COVID-19 crisis, it is crucial that residents empathize with and actively participate in the high-intensity social distancing measures, so I ask the related departments to pay special attention to this."
