3 Workers Including Office Manager Die During Replacement of Water Well Pump at Yeongdeungpo Officetel (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] At around 11:31 a.m. on the 14th, three people, including two workers and a building manager, died while performing inspection work in an underground sump of an officetel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
According to the fire authorities, two workers collapsed from suspected electric shock during sump pump replacement and repair work on the second basement floor of the officetel, and the building manager who went to rescue them was also electrocuted.
When firefighters arrived after receiving the report, all three were unconscious. The firefighters performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and transported them to a nearby hospital, but all three died.
