According to the county on the 14th, floating debris carried downstream from the upper reaches has been left piled up as the water level of Okjeongho has dropped following the recent heavy rain.
Accordingly, the county operated the Okjeongho Watershed Guardians, consisting of 22 members, to carry out cleanup activities for the floating debris accumulated along the lakeside.
The cleanup activities started around Ssangamgyo in Unam-myeon and will gradually extend to areas such as Bungeo Island and Yosan Park for lakeside cleanup.
Additionally, maintenance work on the Water Mist Trail and Masil Trail is planned for visitors to Okjeongho during the vacation season.
A county official stated, “We will make every effort to promptly collect the debris and floating materials pushed into the Okjeongho lakeside due to the recent heavy rain and manage the water quality of Okjeongho.”
