At around 10:44 a.m. on the 14th, smoke was generated from the decomposition of crop protection agent raw material (CCTA) stored in an outdoor warehouse at LG Chem's Onsan plant in Onsan-eup, Ulju-gun, Ulsan. Factory workers evacuated. The fire department completed extinguishing the fire around 11:40 a.m., and the company reported no casualties.
The fire department confirmed that the leaked gas component was '2-chloro-N-(cyano-2-thienylmethyl)acetamide.'
