KF Virtual Concert 'Stay Joyful', 9 Sessions Released Through October
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] From the 13th to October 15th, the Korea Foundation (KF) will release the KF Virtual Concert Series "Stay Joyful" every Thursday afternoon for a total of 9 sessions through the KF YouTube channel.
To provide opportunities for enjoying world cultures to Korean citizens and foreigners residing in Korea, KF, which has presented various performances, planned this online concert to add vitality to the monotonous daily life caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Stay Joyful series features 9 domestic and international performers (teams) from Thailand, Costa Rica, Brazil, Romania, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Korea who have participated in KF's past domestic and overseas projects. They deliver beautiful performances along with encouraging messages for overcoming COVID-19 worldwide in videos of about 15 minutes.
The first video to be released on the 13th is a piano performance by Poom Prommachart, regarded as the most successful Thai pianist. Following that, on the 20th, a performance by the Costa Rican clarinet and guitar duo Alonso Torres and Lenin Izaguirre is scheduled.
Subsequently, videos will be introduced featuring △ Brazilian guitarist Marco Pereira, △ Romanian violinist Alexandru Tomescu, △ Mexican pianist Juan Pablo Horcasitas, △ Dutch jazz band Jazzkia, △ Korean bandoneon player Go Sang-ji, and △ traditional Korean music groups Bulsechul and Goreya.
Through this virtual concert series spanning about two months, viewers can experience different music styles, concepts, and genres from seven countries including jazz, classical, and traditional Korean music through the videos.
