[Asia Economy Reporter Su-yeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Company launched the 7th generation new Avante hybrid and N-line models on the 13th.
The new Avante hybrid is a hybrid model newly born after 11 years. Hyundai introduced the Avante LPi hybrid using LPG fuel in 2009, and after 11 years, it released a gasoline engine-based hybrid model.
The All-New Avante hybrid achieves high fuel efficiency, optimal power, and comfortable ride quality through a hybrid powertrain completed with a high-efficiency system and the application of a 6-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission).
By applying an integrated lithium battery system combining a high-voltage battery and a low-voltage battery, the battery weight and volume were reduced while increasing fuel efficiency, achieving a combined fuel economy of 21.1 km/ℓ (based on 16-inch wheels). In particular, the integrated battery is located under the second-row seats, securing ample second-row and trunk space equivalent to the standard gasoline model.
The Avante hybrid delivers a system maximum output of 141 horsepower and a system maximum torque of 27.0 kgf·m through a combination of a gasoline 1.6 hybrid engine with a maximum output of 105 horsepower and maximum torque of 15.0 kgf·m, and a high-efficiency drive motor with a maximum output of 43.5 horsepower and maximum torque of 17.3 kgf·m.
Additionally, an integrated electric booster that electronically controls the brake pedal and hydraulic pressure was applied to provide smooth braking performance, and a rear multi-link suspension was installed to realize a stable ride. The price of the All-New Avante hybrid is set at ▲Smart 21.99 million KRW ▲Modern 23.77 million KRW ▲Inspiration 28.14 million KRW by trim.
Meanwhile, the 'Avante N-line,' inspired by Hyundai's high-performance brand N, was also launched. The N-line is a model that applies sporty driving sensations and differentiated interior and exterior designs. Hyundai's N-line is positioned between the standard model and the high-performance N model in Hyundai's lineup, offering a more dynamic driving experience compared to the standard model.
The new Avante N-line is equipped with a Smartstream gasoline 1.6 turbo engine, securing powerful performance with a maximum output of 204 horsepower and maximum torque of 27.0 kgf·m, and is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission).
The Avante N-line comes standard with a rear multi-link suspension suitable for enhanced driving performance, large-capacity disc brakes, and N-line exclusive 18-inch front-machined alloy wheels. Additionally, it is equipped with numerous features necessary for sporty driving, such as sports seats, N-line exclusive 18-inch tires, and paddle shifters (limited to the 7-speed DCT model).
The 'rev matching' function, which momentarily adjusts engine RPM to smooth gear shifts and enable quick re-acceleration when downshifting during driving, is also applied (limited to the 7-speed DCT model).
The design concept is 'Low & Wide,' applying N-line exclusive designs to key exterior elements. The front features a slim N-line exclusive radiator grille, N-line emblem, and sporty air intakes. The side presents a differentiated image with side sills that make the body appear lower, piano black-colored outside mirrors, and window line (DLO) moldings. The rear completes a dynamic look with a sleek spoiler, single twin-tip muffler, and a wide horizontal rear diffuser.
The interior maximizes sporty sensibility with N-line exclusive designs such as red-stitched leather seats, leather steering wheel, gear knob, as well as metal pedals and footrest.
Hyundai also introduced 'N Performance' parts, a customizing tuning product, alongside the launch of the Avante N-line. Through N Performance parts, which include options such as a large-capacity brake package, design wheel package, N Performance suspension, and interior package, customers can experience a more dynamic Avante N-line.
Additionally, Hyundai will hold an event to give N brand goods to early customers of the Avante N-line. The first 500 customers who purchase the Avante N-line will be provided with vouchers to purchase brand goods themed 'Everyday Sports Car,' which is the DNA of the N brand, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The price of the All-New Avante N-line by trim is set at ▲Sports (6-speed manual transmission) 21.79 million KRW ▲Sports (7-speed DCT) 23.75 million KRW ▲Inspiration 27.79 million KRW (reflecting hybrid tax benefits and based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax).
