Yeosu City Recruiting Participants for Geumo Island Beodeulin Village in 'Living First in Jeonnam' Program
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 12th that it will recruit 10 teams, 20 participants, to live in Geumodo Beodeulin Village as part of the ‘Living First in Jeonnam’ project starting from the 14th.
‘Living First in Jeonnam’ is a project aimed at understanding the cultural differences between urban and rural areas and minimizing trial and error during the process of urban residents relocating to farming and fishing villages. It is currently being promoted in 25 villages across 15 cities and counties in Jeonnam.
According to the city, among the pilot villages for Living First in Jeonnam, Yeosu City’s experiential recreation villages include Gat Goeul Village and Geumodo Beodeulin Village, and this time participants will be recruited for Geumodo Beodeulin Village.
Eligibility for participation is individuals or families interested in returning to farming or rural living who reside outside Jeollanam-do according to their resident registration, and applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Living First in Jeonnam website.
The participation period is from this month until November, and applicants can apply for a period ranging from 5 days up to a maximum of 60 days depending on the schedule. Expenses such as accommodation fees and customized tour and experience program costs will be supported from 50,000 KRW to 110,000 KRW per day per team.
The program includes cultural and tourist site exploration, visits to senior farmers who have returned to farming, agricultural product harvesting experiences, rural volunteer activities, and completion of cyber education.

Meanwhile, another experiential recreation village in Yeosu City, Gat Goeul Village, located in Dolsan Jukpo, plans to have a total of 12 households participate in 3 sessions this year through an agreement with the Government Employees Pension Service Retiree Community Village project.
