Goheung-gun Volunteers to Aid Heavy Rain Damage Areas in Gokseong and Gurye
Volunteer Fire Brigade, Women's Association Council, Saemaeul Women's Association, and Other Groups Participate
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it is actively participating in volunteer work at the flood recovery sites in Gokseong and Gurye areas, which suffered heavy damage due to the concentrated heavy rain.
To this end, two disinfection vehicles and one mobile laundry vehicle are being provided, and a volunteer group of public officials has been formed to engage in volunteer activities.
In addition, 50 members including the head of the Goheung-gun Volunteer Fire Brigade (Chief Jang Seonggon) visited the Gurye damage site on the 11th and 12th to participate in recovery efforts, along with about 40 members including the Saemaeul Women's Association (President Kim Yangsuk).
Furthermore, with hopes for the swift recovery from this disaster and a return to normal life, various local volunteer organizations, including the Goheung-gun Women's Association Council (President Kim Youngsoon) and the Korean Red Cross Goheung Branch (President Kim Yeonsuk), are also continuously participating in the recovery efforts.
A volunteer who participated in the activities said, “Seeing the site firsthand is heartbreaking, and I sincerely send my condolences and encouragement. I hope the residents of Gokseong and Gurye, who suffered great damage from the heavy rain, can regain their daily lives as soon as possible.”
