Jeongeup City Gugak Orchestra to Hold Thursday Regular Gugak Performance on the 13th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] The Jeongeup City Traditional Korean Music Orchestra (Director Ju Ho-jong) will hold a healing performance to soothe the weary hearts of citizens due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the long rainy season at 7:30 PM on the 13th at the outdoor stage of Jeongeupsa Park.
Admission to the performance is free, and the outdoor event will be canceled in case of rain.
This performance is part of the regular traditional Korean music performances held on the second and fourth Thursday nights of each month since June. It will be conducted strictly following quarantine guidelines such as wearing masks to prevent COVID-19.
The performance will begin with the dynamic dance movements of dancer Byeon Eun-jung and the traditional fan dance, followed by instrumental pieces "Cheonnyeonhak," "Choso-ui Bom," and "Canon Variations" performed by musicians Kang Yeon-jin and Yoo Dong-hyun, and then the pansori performances "Jangtaryeong," "Cheolgapsan," and "Baettwiro-ra" by opera troupe members Kim Ji-young and Kim Geon-hee.
