6 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Among Overseas Arrivals in Gwangju... Pending Confirmation for Existing Case No. 211
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Six new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Gwangju in one day. All were overseas arrivals, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 216.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 12th, six men in their 40s to 50s who arrived from Uzbekistan the previous day tested positive for COVID-19.
All entered Incheon Airport at 8 a.m. the previous day and were quarantined at the Gwangju Fire Academy dormitory around 1:40 p.m. according to overseas arrival guidelines, with no other movements or contacts.
Only patient number 215 showed symptoms such as diarrhea since the 4th, while the others were asymptomatic.
Earlier, a man in his 50s classified as patient number 211, who tested positive in a COVID-19 test the previous day, had his confirmation pending.
Although the first test conducted by a private entrusted institution showed a positive result, the second test by the Gwangju City Health and Environment Research Institute was negative. He is being managed under a quarantine system equivalent to confirmed cases and is awaiting a third test.
Meanwhile, since the second wave of COVID-19 began in Gwangju on the 27th of last month, 183 people have been confirmed positive.
By age group: 5 under 10 years old, 8 in their teens, 7 in their 20s, 14 in their 30s, 27 in their 40s, 42 in their 50s, 46 in their 60s, 21 in their 70s, 8 in their 80s, and 5 in their 90s.
