This Year’s New Licensed Customs Brokers '680'... Increased Demand for Customs Broker Certificates Among 20s and 30s
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Customs Service has announced the list of successful candidates for this year's licensed customs broker exam.
According to the Korea Customs Service on the 12th, this year's licensed customs broker exam was held on the 4th of last month, with a total of 2,841 candidates taking the test. Among them, 680 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 23.9%.
The list of successful candidates can be checked on the Korea Customs Service's official website and the Korea Customs and Logistics Association's website.
The Korea Customs Service will mail the licensed customs broker certificates to the successful candidates starting from the 19th of this month. Those who wish to work as licensed customs brokers must complete a separate registration process with the Korea Customs and Logistics Association headquarters or regional branches.
Licensed customs brokers are specialized cargo management professionals that must be employed by operators of bonded warehouses, bonded factories, bonded sales areas (duty-free shops), and other bonded zones. Recently, due to the increase in bonded zones and bonded cargo, the demand for this certification has been steadily rising.
In particular, the demand for the licensed customs broker certificate is mainly concentrated among young people. According to the Korea Customs Service's analysis of this year's pass distribution by age group, 531 (78%) of the successful candidates were in their 20s and 30s, indicating a high proportion of youth obtaining the certificate for job-seeking purposes.
