13 Additional COVID-19 Cases Reported in Busan... Contacts of Confirmed Patients, Russian Ship Crew, and Overseas Entrants

On the 11th, Busan city health authorities announced that a total of 13 people tested positive for COVID-19, including 8 individuals linked through chain contact with existing confirmed cases, 4 Indonesian crew members who stayed on a Russian vessel docked at Busan Port, and 1 overseas entrant.
Among the 13 cases, 5 are classmates of patient number 174 (a woman in her 50s from Saha-gu with an unknown infection route) at Pukyung Health High School, an affiliated school of Pukyung High School. All of these confirmed cases are women in their 60s to 70s residing in Busan.
The health authorities are concerned about further infections as the affected class consists of 38 students and teachers, and the total number of students at the school exceeds 800.
Additionally, 3 family members of patient number 182 tested positive.
The city health authorities are conducting epidemiological investigations on the additional confirmed cases and plan to conduct comprehensive testing of the students at the school.
Among the 13 newly confirmed cases on this day, 4 are Indonesian crew members, including the captain and 2 crew members of the Russian vessel Yeongjin 607, as well as 1 ship security personnel. They are believed to have been infected through contact with patient number 170, the captain of Yeongjin 607.
These Indonesian crew members initially tested negative in the first diagnostic test and were quarantined on board, but tested positive in the second test.
As a result, the number of infections related to Yeongjin 607 has increased to 8, including the captain, 1 Korean crew member, 5 Indonesian crew members, and 1 ship security personnel.
