View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 11th at 9:30 AM, Noh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, received a report from the Director of the Construction and Transportation Bureau regarding 'Preparation for Guerrilla Heavy Rain' in the presence of the Deputy Mayor, directors, and heads of relevant departments.
Lee Deok-su, Director of the Construction and Transportation Bureau, reported, "Due to the monsoon season lasting nearly 50 days, a large amount of rain has fallen," adding, "Fortunately, there has been no flooding of houses in the area, but some parts around the Gaehwa Yukkapmun have been flooded, and we are investigating the cause."
Mayor Noh Hyun-song emphasized, "According to the Korea Meteorological Administration's forecast, the monsoon will continue until the 16th," and urged, "All staff must check for any abnormalities in various facilities to prevent damage caused by guerrilla heavy rain."
He especially stated, "The entire country is experiencing flooding due to guerrilla heavy rain and typhoons, and the damage is enormous and very regrettable," and urged, "We must thoroughly inspect risk areas and hazardous facilities in the district and prepare for emergencies."
Furthermore, he said, "Since potholes or sinkholes pose a high risk of traffic accidents and other safety incidents, prompt response is necessary, and attention should be paid to removing foreign substances to prevent road flooding caused by clogged rainwater drains."
