The archive will be built within Daesang Park at 159-1 Jungang-dong, Seongsan-gu, planned as a building with one basement floor and two above-ground floors, covering a total area of 3,800㎡.
The archive will be developed as a core cultural institution called 'Archiveum (Archives + Museum)' through organic cooperation with the 'Changwon Industry, Labor, and History Museum,' which is currently under construction on adjacent land, providing information for academic research and education.
Additionally, the city will secure 3,000㎡ of storage space to accommodate 939,497 important records currently stored across 11 storage rooms in 4 government buildings, as well as 412,500 non-electronic records expected to be produced over the next 15 years. It will also re-receive and store 1,248 volumes transferred since the opening of the Gyeongnam Archive in 2018.
Furthermore, collaboration will be conducted with the Changwon Studies Research Center established at the Changwon City Policy Research Institute.
