Ahn Cheol-soo on President Moon's 'Housing Price Stabilization' Remarks... "Salt in the Wounds of the People"
"If House Prices Rise Further... It's Like Telling the People to Die"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, criticized President Moon Jae-in’s statement on the 11th that “the overheated housing market is beginning to stabilize and the upward trend in house prices is showing signs of easing,” calling it “salt in the wounds of the people deeply hurt by this administration’s real estate policy failures.”
On the same day, Ahn said on Facebook, “There is a serious error in the perception and judgment of the situation,” and asked, “Does the Blue House not read newspapers or listen to public opinion? Or is the president surrounded entirely by sycophants who blind his eyes and ears?”
Ahn pointed out, “It has long been said that there are no sycophants under a wise ruler, so I am worried. This government’s real estate policy has failed thoroughly. You say house prices have been controlled? They have already risen as much as they can. If house prices rise further from here, it means telling the people to die.”

Ahn stated, “The 23 measures are evidence of policy failure. This administration’s real estate failure is a complex result of regulation-only policies, supply instability, and distrust in government policies,” and added, “To calm the angry public sentiment, above all, the president must sincerely apologize for the policy failures and start by dismissing the relevant ministers and aides.”
