Hyundai AutoEver Selected as Preferred Negotiation Partner for Daegu City Autonomous Vehicle Infrastructure Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Hyundai AutoEver announced on the 11th that it has been selected as the preferred negotiator for the "Daegu Metropolitan City 5G V2X-based Service Demonstration Infrastructure Construction Phase 2 Project."
This project will be carried out over six months, including a stabilization period, and is expected to be completed early next year. The goal is to build infrastructure for the safe operation of autonomous vehicles in the Daegu Technopolis area and Suseong Alpha City. The scope of the project includes infrastructure construction (roadside devices such as video incident detectors, RSUs, WAVE terminals, and center infrastructure equipment) and center system configuration (control system network setup, integration of collected data), among others.
Hyundai AutoEver has continuously expanded its mobility business scope. Among these efforts, it is actively promoting projects related to the next-generation intelligent transportation system (C-ITS). One of the core technologies, V2X, refers to the communication and sharing technology between various elements on the road necessary for autonomous driving, including ▲vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), ▲vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and ▲vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P).
V2X is a technology that forms the foundation for safe autonomous driving, and communication technology is essential. Therefore, 5G is also introduced and linked in this project. Hyundai AutoEver plans to strengthen its "Autonomous Driving Support Testbed Solution" through this experience.
