Emart Launches Pre-Order Sales for Chuseok... Strengthening Contactless Services
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart is gearing up for Chuseok sales in earnest.
Emart will begin pre-order sales of Chuseok gift sets for a total of 37 days from the 13th to September 18th. During this Chuseok set sales period, non-face-to-face services will be provided.
First, the ‘Visit Order Service’ that directly reaches customers will be strengthened. Through this, customers can easily and conveniently consult and make payments without waiting for direct face-to-face consultations with an unspecified number of people.
This year, Emart expanded the ‘Visit Service’?which was conducted at about 20 stores during last Lunar New Year?to all stores. Customers can schedule a visit by phone consultation with a nearby Emart, and Emart visits the customer’s home (or office) according to the reserved schedule to provide consultation and payment. Customers can consult and pay for gift sets at home without quantity limits until the 26th of next month.
The simple set purchase service through the Emart application (app) has also been expanded. Customers can check the discount amount according to the set quantity on the Emart app and receive a barcode including the final amount. With this barcode, they can visit Emart stores for quick payment, and customers who find visiting stores inconvenient can easily pay at home (or office) through the ‘Visit Order Service’.
The ‘Delivery Address Input Service’ is also being implemented for the first time. Previously, customers had to write and submit delivery addresses on paper, but starting this Chuseok, delivery addresses for parcel shipments can be registered collectively on the Emart website. This allows customers to save waiting time for set delivery at stores and reduces the hassle of writing delivery address lists on paper.
The gifticon sending service is also open. Customers can send mobile gifticons worth 10,000 KRW, 30,000 KRW, or 50,000 KRW by clicking the gifticon sending menu at the bottom of the Emart app menu.
Meanwhile, Emart focused on developing exclusive pre-order products for this Chuseok, pre-stocking main set quantities, and securing price competitiveness through early sourcing. In particular, the quantity of practical gift sets priced at 10,000 to 20,000 KRW was increased by about 30%, and the quantity of mid-priced fruit sets was expanded. Also, the quantity of the most popular fruit, the ‘Shine Muscat’ set, was increased, and differentiated gift certificate amounts were provided according to the purchase period, focusing on offering greater benefits for earlier purchases.

For example, for purchases over 10 million KRW, up to 1 million KRW in gift certificates is given during the first 30 days after pre-order starts, and 500,000 KRW gift certificates are given during the following 7 days, with differentiated payment rates by period.
