Jeonbuk's 40th Confirmed Case: Female Student in Her 20s Arrives from Moldova
All Passengers in School Vehicles Tested Negative
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] A woman in her 20s who entered the country from the Republic of Moldova tested positive for COVID-19, marking the 40th confirmed case in Jeonbuk.
According to Jeonbuk health authorities on the 10th, Ms. A, who arrived at Incheon Airport at 5:40 PM on the 8th via Moldova, was confirmed to have COVID-19.
Ms. A departed from Moldova, transited through Istanbul, Turkey, and entered through Incheon Airport (Istanbul, Turkey, flight TK090). She then took an airport bus at around 11:25 PM and arrived at Jeonju World Cup Stadium at approximately 2:50 AM on the 9th.
Afterwards, Ms. A took a school vehicle (with 5 passengers) to the dormitory and had a specimen collected at Jeonju City Health Center at around 5:50 PM.
Ms. A tested positive for COVID-19 at around 4 PM but was asymptomatic, and the other passengers tested negative.
This COVID-19 confirmation marks an additional case 22 days after a woman in her 20s who entered from Syria on the 19th of last month.
Health authorities reviewed airport bus CCTV footage, completed disinfection of the transport vehicle and dormitory, and requested an investigation of contacts within the aircraft and airport.
