Gwangju City Appoints Yoon Yeo-cheol as New International Relations Ambassador
Served as Chief of Protocol at the UN Secretariat and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Egypt
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 10th that it has appointed Yoon Yeo-cheol, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Egypt, as the new International Relations Ambassador.
The new International Relations Ambassador Yoon graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in English Literature and passed the 18th Foreign Service Examination, entering public service in January 1985 as a Foreign Service Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Since then, he has held various positions including Protocol Officer 2 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Director of the North America Division 2, Counselor at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Special Assistant to the UN Secretary-General, Chief of Protocol at the UN Secretariat, Protocol Secretary at the Presidential Secretariat, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Egypt, accumulating extensive diplomatic experience and expertise.
