Changwon National University, Preliminarily Selected for the '4th Phase Brain Korea 21 Project'
Up to Approximately 13.8 Billion KRW in Government and Provincial Support Upon Final Selection
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon National University announced on the 7th that it has been preliminarily selected for the '4th Phase Brain Korea 21 Project.'
This project received applications from a total of 695 education and research groups and 364 education and research teams from 93 universities nationwide. After a rigorous selection evaluation, a total of 562 education and research groups (teams) from 68 universities, including Changwon National University, were preliminarily selected by the Ministry of Education and education research groups.
Changwon National University has three education and research groups included in this preliminary selection. The selected groups are: in the 'Smart Factory' field, the Regional Innovation Growth Leading Smart Industrial Complex Talent Education and Research Group; in the 'Advanced Materials' field, the Materials Innovation Leading Platform Education and Research Group; and in the 'Humanities, Social Sciences, and Technology Convergence' field, the New Senior Smart Life Innovation Talent Training Project Group.
After on-site inspections by the Ministry of Education, the final selection will be made next month, and the university will receive up to approximately 13.8 billion KRW in government funding and provincial subsidies.
In particular, the funding for Changwon National University's 4th phase Brain Korea 21 Project has been expanded compared to the 3rd phase, and a cooperative program has been newly established to enable the project groups to lead new industry fields such as smart factories and advanced materials.
