[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City is recruiting a large number of instructors and supporters to conduct digital education for citizens.
The city announced on the 7th that it will select 436 instructors, supporters, and trainees to operate the "Citizen Digital Competency Enhancement Education" starting from the end of August, and will accept preliminary applications until August 21.
The Citizen Digital Competency Enhancement Education is a policy project promoted to reduce social inequality and discrimination among citizens who cannot handle digital devices, as the use of digital devices has increased due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The city has designated 109 nearby living facilities as Digital Competency Centers, so that citizens can comfortably ask questions at a center close to their home when digital problems occur and receive the desired education, helping them to engage in digital economic activities.
The Digital Competency Center curriculum is organized into ▲Digital Basics (sending simple texts, basic app installation, basics of smart devices), ▲Digital Life (how to use kiosks, mobile shopping, transportation apps, health management, etc.), ▲Digital Intermediate (office work utilization education, basic coding, online commerce, certifications, Photoshop, etc.), and ▲Special Education (experiencing ICT new technologies such as VR·AR, drones, 3D printing, YouTube, etc.).
A help desk that can provide digital competency education to citizens and offer assistance at any time will also be operated.
The city is accepting preliminary applications for instructors, supporters, and trainees until the 21st. Interested citizens can apply through the webpage "Digital Inclusion" or by phone inquiry. Preliminary applicants will go through detailed recruitment processes via related private sector businesses and will be finally selected.
The employment period for the selected digital instructors and supporters will be from the contract signing date with the business operator until the end of January next year. Instructors will receive a minimum monthly salary of 1.75 million KRW, and supporters will receive a minimum monthly salary of 1 million KRW.
