Gwanak-gu 'Care SOS Center' START...Eliminating Care Blind Spots for Those Over 50
Providing Customized Services Through Cooperation Between Public and Private Resources from Target Discovery to Closure... Signed MOUs with 38 Service Providers, Prioritizing Four Major Customized Care Services
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) has launched the 'Gwanak-gu Care SOS Center' project early from the 3rd to support care recipients.
On the same day, the district also held a business agreement ceremony with 38 institutions directly providing care services, including long-term elderly care centers and social enterprises.
The Care SOS Center project was originally scheduled to start in July next year, but it was implemented early to address the family care gaps caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to minimize the occurrence of care blind spots.
The Care SOS Center is a project where care managers assigned to the district office and community centers identify residents' care needs and provide services promptly. From discovering recipients to case closure, it cooperates with public and private resources to quickly connect to the care needs of the recipients.
Care managers respond to urgent and temporary care needs that are institutionally neglected, establish customized plans tailored to each resident's care needs, connect them to pre-agreed care service providers, and conduct follow-up management.
This is expected to be highly effective for residents who need temporary care due to sudden crises or who do not receive support from existing care systems (such as long-term care or elderly customized care).
The district prioritizes four customized care services: ▲temporary home care (daily housekeeping and nursing support) ▲short-term facility care (protection for short-term facility residents) ▲meal provision ▲information counseling services. Along with deploying care managers at community centers, a Care Support TF Promotion Team has been formed to thoroughly address care blind spots.
Elderly, disabled, and middle-aged residents (50 years and older) in need of care can apply for care services by phone or visit to the community center or the district office's Care SOS Center. Service costs are fully covered for residents with income levels at or below 100% of the median income.
